The SHOK Zappy is a compact three-wheel seated electric scooter for adults who want an easy step-through layout, large pneumatic tires and considerably more travel speed than a conventional 6 km/h mobility scooter. Its 48V 500W front hub motor and 48V 12Ah sealed lead-acid battery system deliver smooth, useful power with three selectable speed settings, reverse and an estimated range of up to 40 km (24.9 miles) under favourable conditions.
This Compact Padded Saddle version uses a simple backless saddle that keeps the rider area open and makes it easy to shift position. The adjustable seat height helps reduce the amount of knee bend needed when sitting down or standing up. A large 16 x 2.50 pneumatic front tire and two 12 1/2 x 2 1/4 pneumatic rear tires give the Zappy a substantial rolling footprint for maintained outdoor surfaces.
The keyed control system includes three speed settings, forward and reverse, an LED display, twist-style throttle, horn and front LED headlight. A hand-operated front drum brake provides familiar bicycle-style control. Full front and rear fenders help contain road spray and debris, and the steel frame provides a solid base for everyday use.
The handlebar stem folds down to reduce the storage height. This is a fold-down stem design, not a complete folding chassis. At approximately 50 kg assembled, use a suitable loading ramp, lift or two-person lift for vehicle transport.
